What is the tourism scene like in North Goa?

North Goa has been hyped for its tourism industry for some time now and guests from all over the country and many parts of the world make their way to the state to relax and unwind. Goa is indeed the land of sea, sun and sand and this definitely goes a long way with the image of the state as a tourist destination.

There are a bunch of things tourists can do north of the capital. Most of the popular beaches in Goa are located in North Goa. South Goa, on the other hand, has a better reputation for beaches quiet and lonely beaches, where tourists would like to head to be by themselves for a bit. A majority of Goa’s virgin beaches are located down there.

When there isn’t a party around the Calangute, Baga and Candolim stretch, tourists head to one of the most popular clubs in the state, Sinq located to Sinquerim. Sinq always has a party going on. The club is large enough to have multiple events simultaneously. There are a bunch of other clubs throughout the state and being in Goa means tourists are never too far from a party. Different times of the year have even larger parties that get people from all over India coming to Goa. The previous years saw Sunburn, Supersonic and even Timeout, large events with international names and DJs.

Other interesting places to check out in the North are the churches in Old Goa. Old Goa has some of the most beautiful churches that anyone has ever laid their eyes on. They have been around for more than 2 centuries and are still maintained following the designs of their original structure put up by the Portuguese.

Other than the events along the coastal belt, tourists can also spend some time walking the seashore under the moonlit sky, guided by stars. No matter what has been said about this, it definitely has a romantic vibe to it. Beaches too have a lot of activities taking place as well. There are water scooters, parasailing, banana riding and so much more, tourists interested in these can definitely give it a shot. The state is surrounded by a bunch of rider groups that go around, riding from one part of Goa to the other. If the breeze and the open road appeals tourists, this is another avenue that can be exploited. Furthermore, there are nature camps in many parts of Goa, and these off the grid and allow people attending them to enjoy a break from the city or the constant chatter of their cell phones. Don’t forget to carry trekking shoes if you want to head out on a nature path.

Goa has an interesting line up of restaurants as well. There are a couple of places where people can meet to grab a meal or spend some time out bonding over similar or dissimilar tastes. Goa has a line up of different restaurants throughout the state. Each of these restaurants has their own style of cooking with their own cuisine. The recent years have seen some amazing new cuisines making their way into the state. Goa has their own Mexican restaurants, Italian restaurants, authentic Chinese restaurants to name a few.
